Five local media professionals and programs won top honors at the 2026 Buffalo Broadcasters Awards ceremony held in Western New York. The event recognized outstanding contributions to the region's radio and podcasting industries.
The Buffalo Broadcasters Association presented the awards to acknowledge the legacy and future of broadcasting in the area. Audacy Inc., which owns several local stations, received all five major categories this year. The winners were announced during the annual hall of fame induction event.
WGR Sports Radio 550 was named Station of the Year. The station also saw two individual employees win personal accolades. Sal Capaccio took home the Sports Professional of the Year award. Owen Parker was recognized as Breakout Talent of the Year for his work with WGR Sports Radio 550.
WBEN Newsradio captured the Radio Program of the Year title for its show “A New Morning.” The station’s morning drive segment earned the distinction for its consistent quality and audience engagement in the local market.
In the digital audio category, the podcast “It’s Always Gameday in Buffalo” won Podcast of the Year. The show is hosted by Sal Capaccio and Matt Bove. Mike Rabiej produced the winning series, which operates under the Audacy Sports Podcast banner.
